Te Awheawhe Rū Whenua

Te Awheawhe Rū Whenua - Ngāi Tahu's Earthquake Recovery Working Group. Te Awheawhe was formed by Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, to assist with our immediate and long term response to the earthquakes and Canterbury's recovery.

Participants on Te Awheawhe include chairs (or their nominees) from each of the Canterbury Rūnanga affected by the earthquakes and Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu representatives. Te Awheawhe is chaired by Wally Stone, the representative for Te Hapū o Ngāti Wheke (Rāpaki).
