Kaikōura
Mark Solomon – Kaiwhakahaere
Mark was elected as kaiwhakahaere of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu in 1998. He had previously been working in the metals industry for 24 years. Mark has been involved with Ngāi Tahu meetings since 1988 and with the Kaikōura Rūnanga since 1994. He was elected as the Kaikōura Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu representative in 1995 and is also a Trustee of the Takahanga Marae.
In 2001 Mark was appointed to the board of the Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa. He is a board member of the Oaro-M Incorporation and Chairman of the Takahanga Pā Trustees.
