Lisa Tumahai

Lisa has been a member of Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Waewae since 1994. She was elected to the Kāti Waewae Charitable Trust in 1999 and the Ngāti Waewae representative for Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu in 2001.

She is proud to represent the people of Tuhuru. Her Rūnanga mahi is driven by her aroha for Arahura, her whānau and the hapū of Tuhuru. Her main focus is economic and regional development for Ngāi Tahu Whānui.

Lisa is a Contract Manager for Canterbury District Health Board. She is studying towards a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Management. She has sat on a number of community boards over the past 10 years and continues to support many community organisations.

Lisa is a direct descendant of Te Riaki and Teoti Tauwhare of Arahura, daughter of Gay and Tahana Tauwhare and is married with two children.
