George Tikao

George has been the representative for Ōnuku Rūnanga since its inception.

He has been retired from Air New Zealand for a number of years now and has dedicated his retirement years to Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. George enjoys being part of the Governance team that is delivering economic and social aspirations for Ngāi Tahu Whānui and is excited about the future proposals that are being planned for the delivery of more direct benefits.

George is a very proud father of seven adult children and 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
