Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination
The Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination Follow Up Procedures Documents
These documents are the follow on from the country examination in 2006, which resulted in the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination criticising New Zealand for their approach to protecting the human rights of Māori across a number of areas, including the recognition of the Treaty of Waitangi, Treaty Settlement policy and the Foreshore and Seabed Act. The Committee's follow up report represents another international finding that New Zealand needs to improve their performance.
