ThThe Ngāi Tahu Māori Rock Art Trust seeks to support
the kaitiaki guardianship role of the local Rūnaka Māori Regional
Councils that have rock art within their local areas.
One aspect of this work involves ensuring that the Rūnaka
have the knowledge, skills and resources to manage the
rock art sites in their area with confidence.
Another aspect involves educating the wider public on the kaitiaki
role of the Rūnaka, and ensuring that it is recognised, respected and supported.
