SIMRAP - Survey Areas

SIMRAP or the South Island Māori Rock Art Project
survey work involves relocating previously recorded
rock art and searching the landscape for further sites.

At each site, details on the location and condition of the
art are recorded and a photographic archive is created.

The information generated by SIMRAP forms the most
comprehensive database of rock art in
Aotearoa New Zealand.
