TE ARA MAHI - Iwi Pre-employment Programme
Ngāi Tahu Tourism, in partnership with Te Taumata o Ngāti Whakaue and Ngāi Tahu ki Rotorua, will be running an iwi pre-employment programme called Te Ara Mahi in Rotorua 19-20 September 2011. We are looking for 10 enthusiastic Ngāi Tahu wanting to get into a career in tourism. We will give you an insight into one of our iconic iwi tourism businesses and help you get a head start in beginning your own tourism career… and maybe even working for Ngāi Tahu Tourism!
On Te Ara Mahi you will:
- Meet tourism professionals and learn about what they do
- Gain a 'hands on' perspective of some of the many roles within the tourism industry
- Learn how to get started and get ahead in the tourism industry
- Meet tourism industry and business leaders
- Complete a career plan and cv
Te Ara Mahi will be based at Rainbow Springs, an iconic tourism business undergoing a $10 million makeover including a state-of-the-art water ride. You will be right where the action is and have the chance to show your stuff which may lead to you gaining a work placement or potentially applying for a job within Ngāi Tahu Tourism's Rainbow Springs.
